REMOVAL OF DUPLICATE TITLES

Duplicate Titles will no longer be used and will be removed from the land conveyancing process in Western Australia from 7 August 2023.

From 7 August 2023, anyone who holds a Duplicate Title will not need to take any action.

Duplicate Titles that existed before 7 August 2023 are rendered invalid and:

• do not need to be returned to Landgate; or
• do not need to be destroyed.

Please note that current registration requirements continue to apply for all documents lodged until the change takes effect.

This change will align Western Australia with ongoing advancements in electronic conveyancing around Australia.
