Rise WA Inclusion Football Academy
The Rise WA Inclusion Football Academy will provide a pathway for 50 athletes of all abilities to further develop their football and leadership skills. Players chosen by WA All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA) will participate in a 10 week training program and have the potential to gain selection for the WA state team to compete in the AFL National Inclusion Carnival.
WA All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA) was established to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play Australian Rules and their programs include an integrated competition in the Perth Football League, wheelchair football, blind football, schools programs, and walking football for over 55’s.
“Being part of a team and having a feeling of belonging both on and off the field can be life changing, and Rise is delighted to support WAAAFA to ensure people of all abilities can come together and develop themselves throughout the program,” said Rise CEO, Justine Colyer.
We’d love to get volunteers down to the training academy to support the athletes during their training sessions on Wednesday evenings. This could be collecting footballs, assisting the coaches or cheering on the athletes. Email: communications@risenetwork.com.au to find out more.
